Day 2: Nissin Cup Noodle Museum at Yokohama

I am definitely not into a cup of nothing nutritious for 343kcal but my friend was. So we went to Nissin's Cup Noodles Museum at Yokohama to spend our rainy day there. In fact, many fans thought that I would be stuck at my hotel because of typhoon but its strength had decreased dramatically and became a heavy rain instead. Having stayed at Tokyo for 3.5 years and experienced typhoon a couple of times, I learned to always check JMA a day before for a more accurate weather forecast. Thank you all for your concern! ^^

The first instant noodles was introduced in 1958 and there was an animated movie to show how the inventor came up with the idea and the difficulties he had to overcome (all in Japanese only).

There was also a food court (of course), where you can order instant noodles made into signature dishes from various countries.

I ordered pho from Vietnam, it tasted... meh~ (average). Mee Goreng from Indonesia was the best.

We later queued up at another floor to make our very own unhealthy instant cup noodles.

You have to buy a cup first from the vending machine.

Then we were ushered to our table to unleash our creative juices!!!

Ok... not so creative.

After finishing our master pieces, we handed them over to a stall that puts noodle into our cups. We had to help complete the task by turning the wheel...

My cup was sealed.

The cup had to go through heat to become shrink-wrapped. The expiry date is one month from the date of making.

There was a dough making workshop next door... with additional fees of course. Love the bandana design.

Here is me with their mascot and my cup noodle inside an inflated plastic bag!
We had fun at the museum but the food was really crappy :P

Look out for Day 3 blog post tomorrow!!!

  2. You have to agree that the experience was worthwhile...it looks like fun!

It is still a mistery for me that a friend lived 4 months in Japan with only cup noodle diet
